A professional for-profit arts organization

Influenced by the works of Tibor Kalman and Andy Warhol, we believe there to be an inherent value to both an artistic approach to commerce, and also a commercial approach to fine art. Each founding member creates works of fine art and has and extensive background in print and interactive design, development, and/or creative management.

fridayarts' provides online presentation, virtual & physical gallery events and sponsorship, creative marketing, and online sales services for our member artists and galleries. This core philosophy is implemented through the following:

fridayarts community: This is not social networking, this is professional development. Stay Tuned!

fridayarts is supported by four business units—or disciplines—primarily directed to service this community and select commercial clientele.

Protector of all things friday

Creator of all things friday

Engineer of all things friday

Presenter of all things friday

Friday Fact:

The word Friday comes from the Old English frigedæg, meaning the day of Frige the Anglo-Saxon form of Frigg, a West Germanic translation of Latin dies Veneris, "day (of the planet) Venus." However, in most Germanic languages the day is named after freyja—such as Frīatag in Old High German, Freitag in Modern German, Freyjudagr in Old Norse, Vrijdag in Dutch, Fredag in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish—but Freyja and Frigg are frequently identified with each other.

Gallery 10A presents:

ELEMENTAL:

The deteriorate art of Nathan Woody
Downtown L.A. Artwalk July 9th, 2009

Nathan Woody has buried photographs in the earth, hung them on fence posts for extended periods of time, exposed photos to insect colonies, partially submerged prints in water, rotting food, mold, and otherwise has given space and time for the elements to create lasting change to his art.

The influence of earth, air, fire, water, and organic matter effectively takes control of the piece, takes it out of the artist’s hands, but Woody, as the artist, embraces and welcomes this process Exposure to the elements renders each piece completely unique and irreplaceable. ELEMENTAL is the culmination of thirteen years of exploration, experimentation, and the recognition that the elements ultimately shape us as we move throughout our lives.
